International demining operations cost more than Third World villagers can afford. Only international charity can sustain this sort of mineclearing. But donors fatigue long before the mines run out. And so the devastation continues. Terra Segura International works to enable local entrepreneurs and organizations to clear mines – sustained not by charity, but by local market demand. We are developing grassroots demining programs and the skills, equipment and other resources needed to implement them. On January 8, 2002, Daniel Wolf, President of Terra Segura International, participated in discussion on the problem that landmines in Afghanistan pose to US forces and the Afghani people.
